Trio II smart energy device is focus of new partnership between geo and GB Energy Supply

GB Energy Supply has selected the Trio II because it is the first ‘converged’ smart energy device, combining a SMETS-compliant IHD with a Consumer Access Device that works with geo’s range of data services and phone apps. This makes it unique in the industry and will allow GB Energy Supply to ensure its customer base is equipped with easy to use cutting edge technology.

As well as providing dual fuel consumption visualisation using a touch screen display, the Trio II also offers pre-pay and enhanced pre-payment functionality.

“We are delighted to be working together with GB Energy Supply and particularly pleased that one of our flagship products has been selected for their Smart Meter rollout,” commented Patrick Caiger-Smith, CEO at geo. “The provision of smart meters into every home in the UK is set to revolutionise domestic energy consumption, and the Trio II has been designed to support and enhance the experience of customers as they adjust to a new way of managing their gas and electricity usage”

The Trio II will be on offer to GB Energy Supply customers from the start of the phased rollout this Autumn, ramping up through 2017-19.

Luke Watson, Managing Director at GB Energy Supply, said: We’re delighted Geo are supporting the roll-out of our Smart Meter programme and we’ve been impressed with the way Geo have worked alongside us to help ensure our installation programme is a success.  GB Energy Supply is committed to helping our customers to better understand the energy they use in their homes, not only as part of our drive to help customers reduce their energy bills, but also in support of our fuel poverty initiatives. We believe the in-home displays provided by Geo will go a long way to supporting this work.

Trio II is one of the key products in geo’s ground-breaking range and is part of geo’s long-term objective to reduce energy consumption in connected homes by two thirds over the next ten years. How will it do this? By putting consumers in control of their energy usage, providing them with visibility of their spend.
