London, UK, March 8th 2016, geo, the pioneering developer of smarter energy products and services for consumers, is previewing the latest version of its popular home heating system, Cosy, at Ecobuild (8-10 March, Excel).
Sharing stand E3300 with distributor, Edmundson Electrical/Greentech, geo will use the event as a forum to unveil the new features of Cosy 3, which provides installers with an independent product that can easily be fitted to help customers control their energy use at home and remotely.
The Cosy 3 now offers the ability to work with a twin zone heating system. A second Cosy display can be paired with the system and will work as the thermostat for the second zone. It can be selected from either a standard or limited edition display. Additionally, the solution offers hot water control which is suitable for homes that have a hot water tank. The installation of a hot water extension pack will allow users to switch their hot water on and off from their Cosy display or mobile app in the same way as their heating.
From March 14th the new Cosy 3, can be ordered for the first time from wide network of UK distributors.
Along with the Cosy 3, geo will be demonstrating other solutions from its range of smarter energy products and services at Ecobuild. These include the Minim+ energy monitor, which uses a simple and intuitive display to help users engage with their energy habits. A speedometer style graphic shows current energy use and a budget bar to help keep track of costs.
In addition, visitors to the stand will see geo’s Solo II and Solo III PV monitors, which detect and display the energy generated from a home’s solar PV panels, helping users to identify the best time for using their appliances and taking greater control over their energy usage.
geo’s objective is to reduce energy consumption in its customer’s connected homes by two thirds over the next ten years. How will it do this? By putting consumers in control of their energy usage, providing them with visibility of their usage, and giving them the tools to manage and control it.
The company is pioneering a new approach, the ‘hybrid energy home’, which aims to equip consumers with the monitoring technology they need to blend traditional and cutting edge energy efficiency techniques. The data drawn from smart meters, micro generation and heating controls is used to build an accurate picture of energy usage, displayed through a simple interface and accessible for users to personalise through the Internet or on mobile or home-based devices.
We are very excited about the new functionality that Cosy 3 offers. Installers will have the opportunity to offer highly effective changes to their customer’s homes, which will simplify their heating control. And for the consumer they no longer need to heat their homes when they don’t need to. Cosy gives users full control over single zone and twin zone heating and their hot water systems from a stylish mobile display that will work with iOS, Android, or with our dedicated web application. – Simon Anderson, Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) at geo.
